Finding the Meaning of Life
We are all on a quest to discover the meaning of life, whether we know it or not. You are in your car, and
in a panic you think: why am I here? Good question…if you never asked, you would be dying
feeling you missed out on life. Here are the three steps to begin the search for the meaning of life:
1: Working through your past
You may think you do not need to work on your past, but it is necessary for healing. While not always easy, it is
critical to your growth. You may have been living with stress and grief all of your life, and it is time to be free.
Books and reflection can help you do this on your own, however you may benefit further using
a therapist. It may take a few tries to find the right person for you.
2nd Step: There you are!
You’ve spent your whole life pretending to be who your think you should be. It will take some awareness to determine
who you really are. What do you enjoy or dispise, and why do you feel this way? Having a strange
reaction, try to figure out why. Think from the perspective of yourself as a child. Remember what it is that used
excited you? It is impossible to really live in this world if you are feeling lost
within yourself.
3: Getting consistent
This is where you take action, matching your desires with your reality. This requires some hard work. You may
have been doing some things for others, and they may really resist your changes. It is important for you to be
the real you, and that means doing what you really want to do. And having what you really want to have.
And be what you want. Make your reality match your desires. You must do these
changes now, even though it is uncomfortable, because there will never be a right time.
The meaning of life is unique to each individual. It is clear that the most important purpose of life is to really
live. Don’t just breathe in and out. Don’t just exist. You must really engage yourself in life so that you do
you can come to the end of it feeling you truly did live.
